The last few weeks have brought a range of emotions. We were on cloud nine after our last ultrasound. It was like a full length feature film, and I love replaying it in my mind and thinking about all the different scenes. Since then we've had a couple more snowstorms, a day that felt like Spring...tease, lots of rain, and more freezing cold temps. I love a good thunderstorm, a dusting of snow, and even a brisk morning, but the cold is getting a little old and we're beyond ready for it to be warm again. Bryan says his trip to Charleston this past weekend for good friend Brian Batchelor's wedding confirms that he's had seasonal depression. He called me in the best mood he's been in in weeks. He spent Friday before the rehearsal dinner roaming downtown Charleston's King Street loving his life, the warm weather, and sunshine.
Berkeley and I enjoyed a low key weekend at home. It's been fairly mild the past few days, which finally melted the snow off the sidewalks, and I got to run outside for the first time in months. The day we got back to Boston in January I joined a gym and actually look forward to my morning treadmill dates. I love being up before the world, watching the local news, and getting some me-time before the work day begins. But, I'll be happy to give up the gym soon for dry streets and sunrises along the Charles again.
It's been a slow couple months, yet I'm glad we've been here in Boston for a real New England Winter. Bryan and I have had countless nights at home together to talk, watch movies, dream about the future, and spend time with our dog and the little life growing inside of me, and for these things I am thankful.
As for our little guy...he's kicking like crazy these days! And Bryan can now finally feel him kick too. I'm growing and falling more in love with the little person inside my belly by the day. I'm now 22 weeks...over half way there.
So sweet!
